Procurement linked to the work sequence
Construction buying spans site establishment, installation materials, tools, equipment and replacement parts. The sequence matters: purchasing everything at once may overload storage, while late enabling materials can prevent the next trade from starting. P3 coordinates sourcing against the work packages you identify.
Provide the latest bill of quantities or materials, relevant drawings and revision numbers. Separate confirmed quantities from provisional allowances. This helps suppliers price the intended scope and makes later changes easier to trace.
Supply across mechanical, electrical and site categories
Enquiries can cover piping and fittings, electrical materials, lighting, pumps, compressors, workshop tools and site consumables. Rental requirements may include generators, lighting towers, portable compressors or dewatering pumps. Availability is confirmed for the actual dates and location.
For installed equipment, state whether accessories, connections and control components must be included. For tools and consumables, give quantities and pack sizes. The same item described in different units can otherwise create a misleading quotation comparison.
Plan delivery and site handling
Confirm gate access, receiving times, delivery vehicle limitations, offloading responsibility and the contact authorised to accept goods. Identify materials that need protection from weather or secure storage. Where deliveries are staged, use package references that the receiving team recognises.
If project support crews or installation coordination are required, describe the work, programme and interface with the principal site team. Site safety and technical requirements must be established for the work and the appointed parties.
Request a construction supply package
Send the project location, programme, materials schedule and the date each package is needed. Highlight long-lead equipment and items that require a technical submission before purchase. Name the person who will approve clarifications or substitutions.
